Hi it’s Emma the designer at Bespoke Backdrops

So how do you actually put up a backdrop once you have it? I have this question a lot of times when I’m doing my Skype calls with my clients they say Emma how do I actually assemble the backdrop when I get it?

So I end up doing a demonstration for them on the call and I’m going to do that little demonstration for you today and you’ll find out how easy it is to assemble it and how quick it is as well it takes about two minutes flat

A funny story, is last week I had totally forgotten that I had a client call on Skype and my backdrop wasn’t up. For some reason my calendars weren’t synched, they weren’t speaking to each other and it just kind of got overlooked. I remembered I put my backdrop up in two minutes flat by the time I came you know sliding in to my Skype call, my client was none the wiser because I look totally on brand, I looked ready for business and I didn’t have to worry what was going on behind me because my backdrop just took care of it all

So anyway, here’s the little two-minute video on how to set up your backdrop.

So I’m going to set up my backdrop for you in real time.

How to set up your backdrop in under 2 minutes – see how easy it is to set it all up

Step 1. Receive your backdrop in two parts: 1) custom design printed on canvas in a roll and 2) the frame.

Step 2. The frame is delivered in a carry case. Inside the carry case you will find two poles and 2 stands (legs).

Step 3. Find the 2 poles with the holes at the end and slot these together –
that’s the crossbar. That’s where the backdrop will hang.

Step 4. Find the 2 legs (stands) and slide them open and tighten these in place with the screw handle. At the top they have telescopic polls that slid up again. Slide these approximately 20 cm above your head and use the little screws on the side to tighten in place. Please note setting up for the first time the stand may be a little stiff and you may need to slide open and close a couple of times to loosen. Adjust how wide the feet are apart to ensure stable

Step 5. The frame is up, and crossbar ready for the backdrop.

Step 6. Unroll the canvas backdrop. Find the rod pocket at the top and you thread the backdrop onto the crossbar.

Step 7. The frame is up, the backdrop is on the crossbar and you just slot the backdrop into the legs.

Voila! Your custom designed backdrop set up in under 2 minutes!

Step 8. Only applies if I’ve designed a backdrop for you that is a room scene with shelves and picture frames. Clamp like special clips will be provided to hold your backdrops in place. These keep the backdrop scene nice and taut. With an abstract backdrop it doesn’t matter so much if it is not hung exactly straight on the crossbar but for one that’s a room scene always a good idea to try and get it as them as straight and as taut as possible by using the clips on each side.

So now I’m going to show you how easy it is to put your backdrop away again.

Packing away the backdrop in 4 easy steps:
Step 1. Lift up the crossbar with the backdrop still on it.
Step 2. Roll the backdrop around the crossbar, smoothing it as it rolls.
Step 3. Conveniently store the rolled backdrop on crossbar (i.e. in a corner or in the carry case)
Step 1. Loosen the screws and slide down the telescopic elements of the poles and fold the legs in to close it up

Voila! No more backdrop – so easy!
